Tyson Crosbie is an artist and photographer. He’s been known as an observationalist and to steal souls for a living. He shoots studio and candid portraits, food, product and fine art. His fine art works – collected in two books, Phoenix 21 and Phoenix 22 – are rule-based work focused on found objects in the city on his walks. “They are all straight images,” says Crosbie. “Meaning that I did not collage them or paint them or anything else.” He photographed what he found. “Now what I saw, you see.” His work evolves depending on many things that include biographical, formal and conceptual factors.
