After attending Central Michigan University earning degrees in both fine art photography and psychology, followed by a three year stint working in finance, Sullivan headed south to Arizona where he turned his love of photography into a full-time occupation. A visual storyteller and portrait seeker he aims to entertain at times yet find the true subject somewhere in all of it simultaneously, be it shooting celebrities, athletes, or the guy next door.

Today, with far reaching clients such as Frito Lay, Miller Beer, Grand Canyon University, APS, Hotel Casa Del Mar, Lunesta, Wired, Shape, Bon Appetite, Inc., Forbes, and so on, Sullivan is one of the most well respected photographers in the Phoenix Metro area. His fine art has been shown in numbers galleries and museums around the states, including locally at the Phoenix Art Museum.

Now, take the photographic world of Brandon Sullivan and fuse it with the illustrative world of Kyle Lane where collaborative designs burst through traditionally framed boundaries of visual storytelling. With their unique visual form that combines the most crucial aspects of each of their distinctive talents they are making an altogether integrated and innovative style now referred to as fotostration. They’re represented by the prestigious Elizabeth Pojé + Associates.

Sullivan works out of and co-owns Legend City Studios. The 7,000-sqft. studio is located in the heart of downtown Phoenix and is often considered one of the premier studios and gallery spaces in the area. It is from this studio that Brandon Sullivan will continue to produce launch from for years to come.

After a gig in LA as a photographer for Seiniger Advertising, I moved to Arizona and started a business as a freelance commercial/editorial/fashion photographer. I have shot for numerous publications as well as many clients in the area and abroad. Right now, along with my commercial work, I am striving to elevate and blend my vision of fashion photography with my inspiration/admiration of science fiction (film), surrealism/pop-surrealism, and even music. Much of my personal and fine art work contains these elements – and there is much more to come.

His family’s home near The Hague offered him many indelible landscapes: the dunes leading to the sea; a series of large flower gardens; and the woods nearby. Blok studied filmmaking and worked briefly editing films in Los Angeles. He turned to still photography and established himself as a significant shelter photographer. Since 1998, his work has been featured in Traditional Home, Southern Accents, Western Interiors & Design, and Phoenix Home & Garden. In 2008, Blok was awarded First Place by North American Travel Journalists Association with ‘Desert Oasis’ in the category of Architecture and Facility photography. He also shoots for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, and Ritz-Carlton resorts.

His relentless mental energy and quiet enthusiasm for creating the right composition, will connect not only with the client’s viewpoint, but also connect and appeal with the consumer in its published environment.

Dan is at his best when he faces the truths that confront a professional photographer. Lighting. Symmetric and asymmetric shapes. Drama and contrast. Textures and moods. He is at ease in any situation or location and has an uncanny rapport, not only with inanimate objects and structures, but animate ones as well. Be they high end or low end, he sees them all as striking and beautiful. Through his lens, lifestyles and desires are seductively captured.

The way that Dan works is also refreshing. Minimum fuss. Attentive. Resourceful. Cheerful. He simply believes that every picture should tell a story. It is his photographs that speak volumes and he likes to keep it that way.

Growing up during photography’s transition from film to digital has provided him both a strong background and unique insight into his medium’s technical and artistic possibilities. Utilizing the latest digital capture technologies, and manipulating his work in post-production to the highest degree, he strives to push the expected boundaries of this dawning medium while maintaining references to it’s past. He encodes references to technology, electronic communication, mass media, spirituality, religion, architecture, and science, but insists there is no direct interpretation of the scenes contained in his prints. He provides a springboard for the viewer, who is invited to bring their unique perspective to arrive at their own conclusions. Dayvid LeMmon, 27, lives and works in Phoenix, Arizona and has exhibited his work in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Philadelphia, New York City, Miami, Cologne and Berlin. He is a recipient of the Arizona Arts Commission’s Artist Project Grant for 2010.

Denny Collins received a BA in photography from ASU in 1987. He regularly shoots corporate, medical, architectural and executive portraits. A sampling of his clients includes Verizon Wireless, University of Phoenix, M & I Bank, Newsweek Magazine, Banner Hospitals, Bashes, and Gannett Publications. His specialty is photographing people in their environment. In his personal work, he loves to shoot landscapes and wildlife when the opportunity arises.

“Many times throughout life, I’ve wondered which of the five senses I would give up if I had to choose one to live without.”

The Beatles changed the way I listened to music when I really heard music for the first time. It wasn’t their mop-headed “yeah, yeah, yeah” that influenced me. I can remember sitting in my friend’s living room on a rainy day listening to Sergeant Pepper for the first time. Music became an extremely powerful ally at that moment and continued to be for many years. I would never want to loose my ability to hear.

Touch is huge. Smelling, not so important; taste either. I always wished scientists could create a pill that would provide all the nutrition and stave off hunger. I’d be first in line.

Sight has always been the most important. I’ve spent many years enjoying all my eyes can absorb. As a young man, I had wanderlust to see and visit other places, so I hitched cross-country several times until I saw most of this country, then hit Europe, and eventually through photography assignments, visited all the continents except South America, and the North and South poles. I couldn’t get enough visual stimulation. I studied people, their culture, lands, and loved every second.

Everywhere I traveled I carried my camera as a constant companion. I shot sparingly because film was more expensive than a loaf of bread. Regardless of where I visited I was compelled to capture images to share with others. Unfortunately, Ektachrome wasn’t archival, so most of those images are badly faded – but my memories are vivid.

My passion for photography has never faded. Interpreting what I see through photos is still an overwhelming desire that overrides any other ability to express my thoughts.”

I truly believe that artistic talent is a gift. My mother worked full time as a fashion illustrator for several department stores in the 60s. She used to block off the kitchen and use it as a darkroom. I would watch in amazement as the images magically appeared in the trays and was instantly hooked.

While studying Photography & Advertising at Columbia College, I began working as a photojournalist in Chicago before relocating to Phoenix. After shooting entertainment journalism for a few years, fashion began to captivate my interest. I wanted to continue developing as an artist, so I relocated to Los Angeles in 1989 and built a successful business as a fashion/lifestyle photographer.

I love Phoenix, bought a home here in and have been happily based here ever since. I recently won the Fashion Icon 2009 award from Fashion Group International.

My passion is documentary portraiture in the third world. It brings a great reality balance to the fashion side of my work. My roots and heart are in photojournalism.

He has been a photographer in Phoenix since moving to the valley in 1994. In 1999, with business partner Jon Balinkie, he set up a commercial photography studio called Camerawerks and in 2000 he entered the downtown art scene. He has his own original and eclectic take on photography, mixing socially acceptable and unacceptable situations, using his own analytical and humorous approach. He is currently part owner of a downtown studio/art space called Legend City Studios. His personal and commercial photographs appear in magazines, national ad campaigns, art shows and personal collections.

Though Newton has a love for barriers in his photography, his advertising- and editorial-based portraits seem to know no bounds, as clients reach out to him from Phoenix, Los Angeles and beyond.
A quick peek into his routine blogging reveals the ongoing clamor for all that is inventive, engaging and pure Newtonian; from January 2009′s Indiana flight to shoot NASCAR superstar Tony Stewart for an Armor All advertising campaign (“He was a pretty cool cat. And we were rockin’ some crazy cool music the entire shoot.”) to his first campaign for Nike’s Pro Combat line (his third shoot of Amare Stoudemire). The other Newton said that an object would remain at rest or in a uniform motion in a straight line unless it was acted upon by an external force.

Whether it’s Jeff Newton’s photographs or the vision of the man himself that acts so powerfully upon national advertising and editorial perceptions, one cannot say for sure. That Newton produces all out campaigns that rock, is simply the law of the lens.

His base of operations is in Phoenix, Arizona, where he shoots regularly for a wide range of national publications. Covington’s passion for photography began at age eight with his first Brownie camera. However, his road to photography took a few turns and detours before the camera became his full-time vocation. You can see those unexpected paths in his photographs. His education at the Art Center College of Design (Pasadena) expresses itself in his art sometimes surprisingly graphic compositions. You can see his years as a rock drummer reveal themselves in his fascination with fringe characters and underlying rhythm in his backgrounds and lighting. Wonder where the fascination with soft curves, smooth lines, and on-the-edge detailing comes from? Credit it to his years as designer and manufacturer of alternative American motorcycles. Covington’s past infuses his present. He explores the edges that make people stop and stare, then wonder if what they’re beholding is safe or dangerous.

While Rodney shares similar paths with that of his commercial contemporaries here in the valley and throughout the USA, his true identity as a mature image-maker lies within his ability to create poignant portraits, specifically in support of relief and development groups.

Operating around the globe, Rodney has utilized his advertising skills as a professional photographer to assist in raising revenue and attention to programs, which would otherwise once off the news cycle, simply disappear from sight. His photographs have depth, content and typically tell a story about his subjects’ lives.

Rodney respects the people he creates portraits of…reflecting when asked that… “My subjects own their successes, poverty or ill health and so it’s a gift when they allow me to create an image”…equally, “I have to be careful not to get in the way of their message or change the content to suit my own desire for a more stylistic image, but to remain true in creating an image with integrity regardless if it’s a commercial project or one where peoples lives are at risk.”

Rodney’s work isn’t driven by a centered sense of self. As an accomplished photographer, he finds that his portrait work continues to evolve, challenging him to use this evolution to benefit from his advertising clients, especially those where directing people is of prime importance. When in the field, every conceivable human emotion plays out and he uses his empathy gained from a decade of covering famine in Ethiopia, the global food crisis in Kenya, AIDS/HIV to education, a veteran of countless projects in all hemispheres, to play his part in easing the human condition.

Highlights from his career extend to his acting as chief photographer for a major Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) for 11 years, being a founder of HEART, a medical program helping children in the developing world with heart operations, working the 2004 tsunami field in India/Indonesia and include his latest project in Haiti with work currently scheduled to be produced for multiple relief organizations in the coming month.

Rodney continues to support the local creative teams in advertising and the design community at large and enjoys the respect of his peers from a long career of taking care of his clients and crew. Under his direction, Rodney leverages the collective skills of his team to create the best work possible for his clients, which seems to be recognized universally, given Rodney is en route to shoot a campaign in Latin America for a notable brand.

Yet, with all this global attention, Rodney honestly admits that in a commercial realm he’s not unlike many of his highly skilled peers who are trying to do the best they can in a very difficult market…something akin to juggling chainsaws above your head.

Rodney is trusted by agency creative directors and country directors the world over. It is through this unusual breadth of life experiences and his compassion and empathy for his subjects that he is able to create images of consequence…all of which can be seen in his work and surely appears to have made a difference on many levels.

Story Historic District near the downtown core, having served as Story’s president for three years. As a long-time advocate of historic preservation, neighborhood revitalization and downtown redevelopment, I’ve served in many capacities and positions to that end.

As a photographer with 30 years of experience producing images for all levels of advertising and corporate communications, I currently serve as Phoenix Chapter president of ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers). When I’m not shooting or volunteering, I love skiing, Indy Car racing, Morgan sports cars and watching our now four-year-old son discover the world around him.
I’m proud to have my photography featured in projects for the “Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center” (SARRC). Among those recognized with distinction:

Dogs make good subjects. I should know. At one time I had nine of them. They don’t talk back. They’re not fussy about what food is on the set and they rarely divulge the ugly goings-on in their relationships. On the other hand, dogs don’t get paid and it’s not easy getting a mortgage when your credentials are busy marking the bank offices. So, in addition to photographing dogs, I try to squeeze in people.

Sometimes the people are inspiring. Like the folks I shot for the US Olympic Committee and the amazing kids at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Sometimes they’re just friends getting married. Sometimes I shoot weird stuff, like album covers for trance bands or floating oilcans or hair. Hair is weird.

And once in a great while, I get a dream gig – a shoot like that can keep you psyched for years. I like being a photographer. I’ve been doing it on my own for about 20 years. I helped other shooters before I went out on my own. And my folks always helped and supported me before all that. Kind of like a big wild circle of karma. Bet you didn’t think you’d see the word karma when you read the first word of this bio….

He’s been known as an observationalist and to steal souls for a living. He shoots studio and candid portraits, food, product and fine art. His fine art works – collected in two books, Phoenix 21 and Phoenix 22 – are rule-based work focused on found objects in the city on his walks. “They are all straight images,” says Crosbie. “Meaning that I did not collage them or paint them or anything else.” He photographed what he found. “Now what I saw, you see.” His work evolves depending on many things that include biographical, formal and conceptual factors.
